‘Mother Night’ is in honor of Hekate, Gatekeeper of the crossroads, the original trinity, the Triple Goddess representing 3 traditional phases of a woman’s life, (maiden, mother and crone). She is sacred to the occult, magic and the night. She is strong, powerful, and an ally to witches. In the stories, it is she who assisted Demeter in her lamenting search for Persephone, guiding her through the underworld, leading the to reunion of mother and daughter.
