About Me

Steve J. Johnson lives in Star Valley Wyoming. He and his beautiful wife Kristin have four very accomplished children and two grandchildren. Levi is a saddle maker, Isaac and his wife Kit are very successful horse trainers, Cheyenne and her husband Austin manage a feedlot with their two little girls and Cooper is a rancher, a braider and a cow dog trainer. He has been fortunate enough to make a living painting and drawing for most of his life. The mediums of choice are oil, graphite and charcoal. His work typically reflects his family’s lifestyle. His work is mostly figurative and makes every attempt to be realistic in design and imagery. Coming from an illustration background all of his images intend to tell a story and many times a twist between the image and the title completes the concept. Steve has shown his art all over the region for many years and has met nothing but good people everywhere. He’s enjoyed many awards and success in having his work end up in many private collections. Being an artist, one often has to explore other avenues to enhance the living, so he also has written, illustrated and published three different sold-out-books, there are 10,000 of them out there somewhere, thanks.
