About Me

Vince Hanvey has been involved with music since his early teens when his father gave him his first electric guitar. That was a life changing event to say the least . Vince took to guitar like a duck to water! Since then he has written, recorded performed and taught music for 35 years. He played the San Diego and L.A. club scene in the late 80s, 90s, and 2000s in bands like Vagrant, Mad for Mary, This side up, and Turned Up. Wanting to branch out and try new things Vince joined world famous Liquid Blue as a bass player . However ,he missed playing guitar and recalibrated his aspirations .In 2007 he and drummer John Pisano founded Jukebox. They went on to become an award winning wedding, dance band. He also did some studio work with country artist Bill Lipscomb on his album ,"Still Kicking" Currently, Vince is lead guitar and vocals for YaRP, which is a Yacht Rock tribute band in San Diego, and "TVE ", a Volbeat tribute band. One of his biggest passions though is passing on his music experience to others. Vince started teaching guitar in 2011 and in 2013, Vince founded U.S. Music Lessons!
U.S. Music Lessons started with 40 students and now has over 400 students and is recognized as one of San Diego's premier places to learn music. Vince and his excellent team of teachers has taught thousands of people to play guitar, bass, piano, drums, violin, saxophone and ukulele.
